        DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE MANAGER

Leadership is the process by a person influences a group of people to achieve a common goal. Leadership can be defined as an influential authority, based on the relationships that the leader establishes with the members of a group. Being a leader is recognition and not a status.

In general, it can be defined as "the ability of an individual to influence, motivate and make others capable of contributing to the effectiveness and success of the organizations of which they are members" The behaviors that one can recognize to the one who assures the "function of the leader ».

Regarding my personal assessment related to the leadership competencies performance, I can say that I have some strengths and there are some areas that could be improved through different methods.

First of all, I Am a person who prefers working in group rather than working individually because we can notice that the result is much better productive and efficient when it is a question of working in a group.

According to F.Drucker, « Very few people work by themselves and achieve results by themselves—Most people work with others and are effective with other people. »

When working in group, I like to be the leader, because it gives you importance, responsibility and a certain recognition that only the leader has.

I prefer answering questions all together rather than dividing the tasks because if we divide tasks, we will not benefit from all strengths that the group has, it is like if the word has been done individually. I prefer making decisions because I like responsibilities, and at the same time, I take advice before making the decision.

When i get stressed, it is not easy to perform things, but I do minimize the importance of the task given, in order to reduce stress and to perform it well.

In the organization in which I would like to belong to, they live under pressure, i would like to work for a worldwide company such as Unilever and Procter & Gamble. I have my cousins who work for these two companies and they told me that I could fit the organization. I really appreciate their values which are integrity, Leadership, Commitment, Passion for success and Confident.

According to the book Managing oneself by Peter F.Drucker, the only way to discover your strengths is through feedback analysis. The feedback analysis is thus to overcome intellectual arrogance and work on acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to make one’s strengths fully productive.

I consider myself as a good communicator, I listen to each member of the group, i make everyone comfortable with some jokes sometimes in order to work in a pleasant atmosphere. I’m a reader because school taught me to be a reader rather than a listener, so every important thing has to be written down so that to keep everything clear. I’m not afraid when taking risks because when you take a risk and everything goes well, you build your confidence in yourself. The more confident you are, the more you will be respected by your peers. This will help you stand out from people who just do not take risks. People will see more value in your actions and will be fascinated by the risks you have taken to get there.
