According to Webster’s définition is : «  the quality or state of being appart from company or observation » or «  freedom from unauthorized intrusion »

We all have different limit of his definition, we might not mind about google knowing our browsing history because it’s not an individual. As we live in a democracy with freedom of thought and everything so our privacy matter.

«  Big data » every data on the WWW

On the internets « cookies » are consider as contract but those contract are pages and pages long and are time consuming therefore nobody read them, everyone click on « yes » accepting to let the website using our data

Google became multi-billionaires from selling our private data.

As an example before 9/11 the government was not allowed to look in our mail or listen to our phone call but after that the «  patio act » was passed by V

Bush’s administration and the majority of the congress ( in the middle of the night), therefore big agencies such as the NSA or he CIA could get into everybody’s data ( in/out of the US). The given excuses was that they wanted to find terrorist.

But the definition of terrorist for American was weird because for them terrorist where : everyone from the Middle East, muslim, Arabian, or poc. So after the act a wide profiling begin toward the « Arabs » community.

There is a kind of slave/ owner relationship nowadays with our privacy ( in extenso our individual right) and the power the government hold with it.

But the selling point is that it is for our so called security.
