What is cricket ?

It’s a team sport. The matches take place in two rounds, a round where the team composed of 11 players attack and in the second round this team begins to defend. This sport is played on a grass field to play it requires a very special ball a bat and a proper outfit to avoid injury. The player’s outfit consists of a short or long sleeve shirt and sometimes a sweater-over with or without sleeves and the obligation to wear a helmet., protective can also be put on the legs As for the color of the outfit it depends on the style of match: A cricket match can be either limited in time (we speak then of first-class cricket), or limited in number of throws (we speak then of limited overs cricket). in the first case the dress of the player is white in the second case the dress of the player is coloured.

Call the team that attacks « IN »and the team that defends « OUT », the goal to win a game is to score the most points when you are IN and therefore when you are OUT the goal is to eliminate all the drummers so they don’t score points. the scored points are called run, the race is the unit of counting points to cricket. It is used to measure both the score of a team during a match or a sleeve and the individual performances of the drummers. A race is marked if both drummers exchange positions. Two races are marked if they exchange positions twice.

The history of cricket

The cricket has for ancestor the creag, a game practiced by King Edward II of England in 1300.

The origin of the word cricket could come from an ancient Anglo-Saxon word crycce which meant stick. Logically the place where the practice of this sport is best known is the Kingdom-United but this disciple is practised throughout the world especially in the countries that have been colonized by England ( for example: Australia, India)
