Hello, my name is Wilfried Dacheux.

Today, I'm going to talk about the notion of Space and Exchanges. All societies are in some way defined by the geographical spaces they are occupied and open to other spaces. Trough trade, conquest emigration and communication, have been influenced culturally, economically, politically or scientifically. With this notion we talked about the traveling and Gap years which is the title of our chapter. Who is a trip or a year of travel where we do what we want such as trips to countries, your future trips or humanitarian missions. The gap years are very close to the notion Space and Exchanges because in a gap years which is very important, it is sharing, learning new cultures, new societies. In this notion we could ask ourselves as a question "Is the fact of taking a gap years is beneficial".

First, I'm going to talk about a document about a woman, Keisha Lee Codron. Keisha is more precisely a globetrotter. Globetrotting is a person who regularly goes abroad. Keisha is of South African origin. Keisha tells us that she saw, experienced new experience every day.

- Meet People around the world

- See new things everyday

- Get so much fun

- She danced, sang

She learned a lot herself :

- Love herself

- Figuring outhe situation

- Things that she han’t

- To be more patient

- To be tolerent

- She get different skills

        She see many different things

- She climbed up the hollydays

- She snorkelled in beaches of thailand

- She kayaked in beautiful glaciers

- She rode a horse trought the mountains

- She saw different sceneries

- She saw Pink flomingos in the lagoons

- She climbed up volcanoes and sawsnoke

Secondly, I would like you to talk about a document that talks about different gap year programs, according to your wishes, your convictions, and in your spare time:

- There is Sumatra, which is a program very close to the sea. The trip takes place in Asia, more precisely in Indonesia on an Island. The trip lasts 6 weeks, there is a trip to China to Singapore. You will live in a tropical climate. It's a trip that does more for people than it wants to do anything.

There is Cotton Tree Project which is more authentic trip you will be closer to the people of the country because you will live in a local family. You will help the people who are often poor, you will help children to work. It is necessary to be near to travel because that one lasts 6months.

This program for people who have the soul has helped people because it has a lot of humanitarian mission.

Before I changed the document I would like to talk about a last program.

        - There is the Snowboard & Ski in Canada, which as it says in Canada. Se gap years is made up of a lot of winter sports such as Skiing, Snowboarding etc ... Se gap years is for athletes who like the cold. Se gap years is during the holidays.

And for the third point document is a newspaper article, which talks about the testimony of a young future doctor Jennifer Davies. Jennifer is a student, she's a doctor in London. Jennifer went to a small village in Canada in the Arctic Circle. This village is very far from the population, it is very isolated. Jennifer left with a program "A gap years student's trip to the Canadian Arctic Circle". This village is called Aklavik. This village is affected by syndromes called (FAS) fetal alcohol syndrome. Jennifer left because she was setting challenges, and it allowed her to open her mind. She had a girl learn to read. After this experience Jennifer confided that after this experience and after these studies.
