  1. International & Bayeux

To develop the international side of the city of Bayeux, we suggest highlighting its partnership with its five twin cities: Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Lübbecke in Germany, Dorchester in England, Voss in Norway and Chojnice in Poland.

We thought about organizing correspondence with the inhabitants of these towns. Thus, the inhabitants of the twin towns of Bayeux will be able to be invited to Bayeux every other year to meet and discuss their different cultures. One year they would come to Bayeux and the following year they would welcome the Bayeusains. This would also leave the choice to correspondents of their destination according to the many twinned towns.

This partnership will also allow a certain cultural development for the inhabitants. Indeed, correspondents will most certainly come with specialties from their country, to share with the whole city. Why not hold a general assembly to present the project to the inhabitants and the added value it will bring to the city, especially in terms of notoriety (tourism) and from a cultural point of view.

b. Setting up the project

In order to set up the connections and for them to have the desired success, it would be necessary to communicate with the inhabitants. We could communicate on the town hall's website and on social networks for digitally-savvy residents, but we could also put up posters and distribute leaflets in mailboxes for people who don’t have or don’t use Internet. These leaflets can also be dropped off at the tourist office in Bayeux and surrounding “big cities” such as Caen in order to promote awareness and attract people.

c. How do you project yourself? The visual example

Below are visual examples of our campaign. First there is a poster. This poster will be displayed in emblematic points of the city, with high traffic, as well as at the Caen Tourist Office. It will also be distributed to mailboxes for people aged 65 and over. For people comfortable with digital technology, we have created a post that will be visible on all social networks in the city of Bayeux. Here we have an example with Instagram. Finally, on the town hall's website, we have planned to produce promotional articles for our actions.
