First of all, we have to talk about the Singapore, which is also known as the Lion City. This is one of the most famous statues in Singapore, the Merlion. This is a parliamentary republic, located in Southeast Asia, with a population of 546,000, their official languages are English Chinese and Malaysian. In the last century, many Chinese businessmen immigrated to Singapore, so there are many Chinese people in Singapore today, which is the reason why Chinese is also one of their official languages. Now , let ’s talk about the history of this school. Its predecessor was Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School, which was founded in 1905. Six years later, he was renamed King Edward VII Medical School because this school received A donation from Edward VII when it was on the verge of bankruptcy., and then it became the University of Malaya in 1949, I have to draw your attention, until now we have been talking about a school in Malaysia, until 1962, a branch of the University of Malaysia in Singapore became independent and became the University of Singapore. In 1980, this university merged with Nanyang University, and then it became the National University of Singapore. Nanyang University is a university founded by chinese merchant, nanyang means the southest of asia in chinese Today, this university has a qs world ranking of 11 and has 33,000 students.
