Presentation of the 2017 handball world championship

Diapo 1:  We are going to present the 2017(Two thousand and seventeen)

 handball world championship.

Diapo 2: First, a little presentation of HandBall and its main rules:

• The game: It’s a team sport, each team is made of 7 players. Handball is played almost exclusively with hands. The play area is 40m (fourty) long and 20m (twenty) wide.

Both team aim to score more goals than the other in order to win.

• The rules: A Handball game is composed of two halves of 30 (thirty) minutes each. They are split by a break of 15 (fiveteen) min. A goal is scored if the shot comes from beyond 6m. Beneath this distance, the goal can be declined because the shot had been taken in the goalkeeper area. Each goal is worth 1 point.

• The sanctions: There are two possible sanctions in handball, the yellow card, and the red card. The yellow one is a warning. A player can get a yellow card if he commits an important foul. If the team gets three warning, the player gets a two minutes long suspension that’s to say the team remain in a lower number of players during those two minutes. The red card happens when a player gets suspended two minutes three times in a game. Then he is excluded with no possibility of replacement. It’s a huge disadvantage, because the team has to play with less players than the other, for the whole remaining game.

Diapo 3: The competition takes place in France from January 11 to January 29th.

• Every qualified nations gather to play the pool phase. This pool phase is from January 11 to January 20th. There are 24 (twenty four) nations split in four groups of six teams. They have to face each other in games to determine rankings. The three teams that have won the biggest amount of points will be qualified for the next step: the round of sixteen. The final will take place on Sunday January 29.

• The different games played in this World Championship take place in several cities : Alberville, Brest, Lille, Metz, Nantes, Paris, Rouen

• The tickets prices to assist to a game are influenced by the team which play and the step of the competition. Ticks for the Finals are more expensive than tickets for the pool phase, opposing two unknown teams.  Actualy, Tickets for games in which the France plays are more expensive because It’s the local team and one of the favourite of the competition. For the pool phase, prices are from 9 to 35 (thirty-five) euros to see teams weaker than France. To see the French players, you’ll have to spend from 25 to 80 (eighty) euros. For the round of sixteen, the prices vary from 30 to 95 (ninety-five) euros. The more the competition goes, the more tickets are expensive. Then, a semifinal ticket price is from 50 to 250 (two hundred and fifty) euros. The Championship Final will take place in Paris. All tickets are sold-out. However, we can find some, but they’re very expesive since they can reach 2000 (two thousand) euros.
