Current affairs refers to political events and problems in society that permit to keep us informed about what is happening in our world. These matters are discussed in newspapers, television and radio. This is important to have confirmed information as we trust them.

The aim of this essay is to show that the fake news stories, misinformation and disinformation corrode trust in information.

Firstly, I will demonstrate the impact of Internet on information and, secondly, the consequences on the trust of people in information.

Since Internet exists the diffusion of information and the way people inform themselves is different. Unfortunately, because of this, disinformation is present. It means that wrong information sometimes invented circulate in order to give a false image of the reality to influence the public opinion. The spread of fake news are as well actual with the use of technology.

Consequently, it plays a crucial role on the trust in information. It became hard to know which information we have to believe or not. Whether TV channels or radio, they all want to share information without always verifying their sources. We are the one who share the content online so we have the responsibility to check and verify it in as much as there are real life consequences.

To conclude, the evolution of technology and especially Internet increased the spread of fake news, misinformation and disinformation. Therefore, it corrodes trust in information what can be a danger as it has real life consequences. Moreover, it is hard for people to know which information they have to believe and it causes the diminishing credibility of media. People became thus suspicious and vigilant.
