Battle of the B!

Unlimited, endless, fast food choices, and yet there are two that stand out above the rest. McDonald’s and Burger King are the two biggest burger fast food chains in the world. McDonald's and Burger King started in the franchise food business in 1955 and 1953, respectively. McDonald's has always been the larger company, but each firm has unquestionably influenced the other over the course of their six-decade-plus rivalry. Even though McDonald’s and Burger King are really similar, they are also really different. They both try to have good advertising, their food seems to have the same condiments, but again, they are far away to be the same. They appear as the two most famous fast food restaurants around the world, but each one of them has their own style. So let me ask you this, who has the better advertising system? Are they similar burgers? And what about the price?

McDonald’s “I’m loving it!” and Burger King’s ‘Come eat like a KING’ are surely two of the biggest trademark quote that the Fast-food industry has ever known. McDonald’s and Burger King invest a lot of money in their advertisements. From the design to the set to the burger itself. Both industries work hard to promote the best of their products, BURGERS! McDonald’s always looks for a white, green or red background with an enlarged burger at the center, exaggerating it content and appearance, of course making anyone crave for it. On the other hand Burger King’s method is the following: one catchy phrase that follows, of course, a tasty whopper burger being prepared with some very beautiful vegetables and a grill. Big Mac from here, a Whopper from there and here you have it, a multimillion dollar advertisement.

Each restaurant boasts iconic products. Burger King has the Whopper sandwich and McDonald's counters with the Big Mac. In fact, the Whopper and Big Mac are the two best-selling burgers of all time. Burger King claims 2.1 billion whopper sales per year, McDonald's suggests a more modest 550 million Big Macs sold each year. Their food seems to be the same, but it isn’t. On one hand, McDonald’s hamburger weighs less and has only 9g of total fat, while Burger King’s hamburger has 12g and they have a saltier taste. On the other hand, Burger King’s beef are 100% pure and they flame-boils their burgers, while McDonald’s fries their beef. That’s why they taste different. Eventually the similarity can always be noticed, of course due to their rivalry, but every cook have his own style, so does them.

The price tag of Burger King’s and McDonald’s burgers isn’t that arguable. Both franchise looks for what’s best for business, so each burger is priced, in a way that both yours and their pockets stays always full! With them you can run by: “Three dollars a day keeps the hunger away!” cool right!

In conclusion, from the advertisement to the burgers to the price and more, we can understand that both Burger king and McDonald are as different as similar, or we can say that each enterprise is unique in its own way. It seems Burger King and McDonald will remain playing catch-up, as THE most recognizable rivalry. So, which fast food establishment do you prefer?
