My Italian trip

The best thing ever is to be able to realize your dreams, one of my dreams is to travel the most that I can. So after seeing Paris, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, I’ve started making a list of countries and places that I absolutely have to see in my life.

Roma, the Italian capital, history is around every corner of Rome. From the Pantheon and the piazzas to Vatican City’s and the famous Colosseo, the ‘Eternal City’ is one of the most historical destinations.

Last October I did what the Italian call « Vacanze Romané » in reference to one of the famous fifties classic moovie, and here I am sharing with you some memories from the trip that I hope will make you wanting to visit this amazing city.

First of all and as I said, the historical side is incredible, Rome is what I called a giant museum, we took a hotel in the city center which help us to discover the entire city by foot and also being sometimes a little lost in the roman little streets but as we said « All roads lead to Rome » now I understand the meaning and it’s a true story.

Seeing the Colosseo, Piazza Venezia or the famous Piazza di Spagna for the first time was awesome, lot of tourists, beautiful weather, the pictures that we took there were like amazing wallpapers.

As you know, Rome is separated in two parts by a river called the Tiber (Tevere in italian), the two parts are joined by amazing bridges each one representing a unique art style. Crossing the bridge we found the famous quarter of Trastevere which means beyond the Tiber. At night, the quarter reveals the entire incredible lively night ambience with all the pubs and traditional restaurants which lead us to the amazing Roman foods.

The Italian food is a Mediterranean simple food with great quality products and olive oil of course, but the most delicious part of the trip was the Gelato.

Italian people are very helpful always smiling and so stylish and elegant, being in Rome is also being in the middle of fashion, via del corso is the equivalent of the Parisian champs elisée, popular place for the « passeggiata » the evening stroll to see friends and do shopping in all the biggest fashion stores.

Anyway, I can talk about Rome for hours but         as we said for Vegas, « What happens in Rome stays in Rome » and the best way to know it is to visit. So go to Rome and do as the Romans do.

Everyone has his own dream; I realize one of mine and hope you realize yours.

See you in next trip.
