New york : 15 days trip

                                           MY TRIP TO NEW YORK : 15 day / 3000 euros

Sunday 15th July : LANDING IN BROOKLYN

I’m happy to wake up for this day because I wait so long for it and it finally arrived !

As a metter of fact, today I go to New York with one of my friend, his name is Jeanne ( she is 18 year old, I met her because she is a friend of my older brother ).

We go to Paris at Charles de Gaulle airport at 5:00 pm. Our plane take off at 18:30 with a delay of 15 minutes and we arrive to NYC at the JFK airport 8:15 hours later ( 8:45 pm local time ).

The flight was great, I really love to fly because we are above the world and it’s so beautiful that I could stay hours and hours in a plane.

We wait for our taxi that I have ordered in advanced, it’s expensive but we don’t have courage to confront the New York’s subway with our suitcases moreover, we are really tired.

Then, we arrive at our hotel, the Brooklyn Way Hotel ( 4th avenue, Brooklyn, NY ), 30 minutes later ( about 9:30 pm ), our room is really pretty, we have a little bathroom and we can see the Verrazano Narrow Bridge on the horizon.

We are too tired to unpacked our suitcases because we are awake since 10:00 am in Paris ( since 16 hours and 30 minutes with the jet lag ), so we just put on pajamas and go to sleep.

Monday 16th July : DISCOVERING BROOKLYN

We wake up at 10:00 am, we sleep late because we want to catch up our sleep to enjoy our trip correctly. We take breackfast at the hotel and decide walk around our hotel to discover area because we hadn’t planned anything, we ask to the receptionist what we can see around the hotel and we tell us that there is a famous cemetery, the Green-Wood cemetery, which is at the end of 25th street.

Then we walk 4 minutes and we arrive in it, we stay there for an hour and a half, there are many interesting things to see and because this cemetery is really big and even if visiting a cemetery is a weird idea, I loved it !

When we go out of the cemetery it is 12:10, then we take the subway to go to Dumbo ( a neighborhood of Brooklyn ) and to take lunch in « Shake Shack » ( 1 Old Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA ). We wanted to eat there because it’s a famous fast food in NY and because there are only 2 of this in France. After lunch, we walk around Dumbo during two hours to see the famous tag in it. Brooklyn is my favorite borough of NY because of its tags in all the city, so I was impatient to see them.

After it, we gp to the Dumbo park, where we can see the Brooklyn Bridge, to relax.

At 5:00 pm, we go to « One girl cookies » ( 33 Main St, Brooklyn, NY 11201 USA ), a coffee which I discovered on Instagram, because in this coffee everything is photogenic so everybody post photos on Instagram, and I take a pumpkin pie which is great !

Then we look after a shop I had heard of which name is « Front General Store », I really want to go there because it’s a vintage shop and I’m addict of it ! We finally find it ( 143 Front St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, USA ) and I stay there for one hour and a half to buy only a jacket at the end…

It’s 7:00 pm when we decide to return to our hotel so we take the subway and we arrive at 7:30 in it.

We decide to buy sandwiches to the bakery next to our hotel, we eat in our room and decide to unpacked our suitcases because we have nothing to do. Today, we walk a lot in Brooklyn so we are tired but it was really beautiful so I go to sleep early but being happy.
