It is better and more effective to work independently than to work with a group of people. Working alone allows people to learn new information to express their ideas openly, without ever having to be distracted or having to disagree on an idea.

First, working in a group causes time waste. The people in the group usually end up doing something else other than working, such as talking. It is a waste of time since they are not making any progress on the work. Also, since nobody works at the same pace, some have to wait until the others finish their part. Furthermore, some will not do their part of research or their part of work, which will only cause a lost of time. That person will have to do his or her part of research when the group should have been doing something else, and the other members of the group will not be able to do anything other than waiting. This is why in the end, the work is usually less good than when a person is working independently, since working in a group can distract everyone from working efficiently.

Second, working independently allows people to fully express what they think. While some would say that working with different people allows everybody to share new point of views, it may be difficult at the end to agree on one idea. Since a project or a presentation needs to have one main idea, the people who completely disagree to that idea may not be able to express their thoughts if they work in a group. However, if people work alone, they will be able to talk about their ideas without having to disagree with other people’s ideas.

Last, people often learn much more when they work alone. Working alone means that a person will have to do more research than working with a group, since that person will not only have to do his or her part of research, but everything. However, if that person puts a lot of time and effort to find all the exact information he or she needs, this person will know everything regarding this subject, and the information will become part of this person. That person will know everything about that topic, which may not always be the case when people work in groups since the workload is divided. People working in groups usually only do their part of research, so they may not fully understand the topic. Working independently will make the person expend his or her knowledge on one subject.

In conclusion, it is better for a person to work independently than to work with a group. Working alone will bring the people more time, more freedom and more knowledge. The people who work on a project independently will be able to do a better work.
