I’m going to talk about the notion spaces and exchanges, to start with, I’d like to give a definition of the terms, Spaces and exchanges deal with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy. Our world is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces. The different cultural, economic, sociological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern-day world.

I would like to illustrate this notion through the theme of screen tourism, the screen tourism, or film tourism, is a location that becomes popular with visitors because it has appeared in a film or television series.

We may answer the question does the tourism only have good effects.

My presentation will fall into 3 parts : first of all, I will concentrate on the good effects of tourism and especially screen tourism, then I will analyze the bad effects before finally focusing on the link of screen tourism and the notion spaces and exchanges.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) estimates that internationally there were just 25 million tourist arrivals in 1950. 68 years later this number has increased to 1.4 billion international arrivals per year.

Nowadays, a new form of tourism has developped, the screen tourism has received mounting attention in recent years.

First of all, screen tourism can have a huge economic impact on the tourism industry. We studied the impact of the serie « The hobbit », there was a 50 per cent increase in visitors to New Zealand after the filming of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film series there. This brings millions of dollars to the New Zealand economy every year.
