I’m going to talk about the notion ( les attentats  de 2001 )

The attacks of September 11, 2001 are four committed suicide the same day to the United States, in less than two hours, between 8:14 and 10:3 by members of the network Al-Qaeda jihadist, for symbolic buildings in the northeast of the country and making 2 977 dead.

September 11, 2001, four suicide bombings hit American soil, forth symbolic buildings such as the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York (two planes hit the towers) and the Pentagon in Washington.

Only one of the flights will not reach its target the two towers that reach to about 415 m of height - are each pierced by a hijacked plane. From the windows of the towers, some employees make desperate signs, others choose to commit suicide. Within two hours, the towers collapse.

This war will be fought mainly in Afghanistan (from October 2001), country suspected to host Ben Laden, and Iraq, in March 2003.
