In 1620 , the very cold winter killed a lot of people british pilgrims . The Indians helped cultivate the land . In autumn , the pilgrims decides to say thank you to the Indians so , they shared the food with Indians . The meel was happy , it was fantastique . This is the official version to the base of the foundation of Thanksgiving and also the USA .

But , it's real ?

The first document is a painting by  Jean Leon Gerome Ferris in 1915 . This scene represent the first thanksgiving . . All of people seems happy . We can see Indians who are sit down in totally peaceful . But , unlike to the Indians , the settlers are stand up , that shows their superiority and they have arms . So , we can think the author has idealize the scene. But knowing the story, he placed some elements proving that it was not so peaceful.

The second document is a cartoon from Cagle , published in 2009 .This scene represent pilgrims with an Indians after a meel . The pilgrims left the table whereas the Indians must pay the check for all . this is the metaphor of the Indian's help to the pilgrims . After that , they suffered .

The last document is a cartoon from Dave Granlund . This image shows a group of women pilgrims who eat with indians and who say « watch thanksgiving football … there is still reason to give thanks » This anachronism shows usa 's value are lost and nobody now celebrate Thanksgiving to remembered the Indian's help .

 

>>> We know the terrible Indian's story , they was massacred by the natives . So , with those documents , we can think  it was here to denounce the myth with ironie .
