Anglais - “Meeting a new colleague” Prune et Capucine

Capucine : Hey, you’re new here, right ? It is your first day ?

Prune : Yes, of course ! I am Prune. I started this morning.

Capucine : Oh good, nice to meet you ! I’m Capucine, how old are you ?

Prune : Thanks. I am a bit confused but I'm fine, thank you. I am 20 years old. How long have you been working here?

Capucine : All right, 5 years now. Don't worry, you'll soon get used to (=s'habituer) it. Have you ever worked in sales before?

Prune :Not really, no. I worked in a clothing store while I was studying, but this is my first real job in a store. What did you do before LIDL?

Capucine : I worked in another supermarket in the cooked meat’s department, it was nice. Do you have a busy schedule ?

Prune : This week, I'm on the morning shift. I'm a bit worried about the long days. Is it hard physically?

Capucine : Yes, sometimes it's physical, especially when you have to restock or receive deliveries. But you get used to it. What's more, the team is really cool, which helps.

Prune : Cool. I was wondering what qualities are important to succeed here? Capucine : You have to be quick and organized. And above all (=par-dessus tout),

you have to have a sense of customer service. If you do your job well, you'll be fine. Prune : Thanks for the advice. What do you do outside work?

Capucine : I like baking and cycling with my family. It helps me unwind. What do you do?

Prune : I like running. Maybe I willl find some good spots here.

Capucine :Yes, there are some great walks around here! Because where are you

from ? You’re not from around here ?

Prune : no I come from Chelsea I arrived one year ago.

Capucine : oh too good, but it’s a bit far from Carshalton ! Do you have any plans for the future?

Prune : Right now, I'm trying to learn as much as I can here. Maybe I'll move up the ladder (=échelle sociale), we will see. What about you?

Capucine : I'm thinking of becoming a team leader too, but I like my current flexibility. We will see!

Prune : Thanks for your advice, Capucine. It's reassuring to know I can count on someone if I need to. And by the way, how old are you?

Capucine : No problem! Me, I am 32 years old, I am old... aha. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me and everything will go smoothly (=avec aisance) , I promise.

Prune : Yes, of course ! I am Prune. I started this morning.

Prune : Thanks. I am a bit confused but I'm fine, thank you. I am 20 years old. How

long have you been working here?
