Is religion a unifying or a disunifying factor in the USA?

The impact of religion on America's unity or disunity is complex and multifaceted. Religion has played an important role in American  history, culture, and society, with its impact varying from community to community and individual to individual. So Religion is a unifying or a disunifying factor in the USA ? We are going to see that have unifying factor in a part and a disunifying factor in the second part. To do that we have three documents. First we have a picture entitled “Welcome to the club”, the second document is an article about religious liberty entitled “ Protecting religious freedom” and the last document : “The pledge of allegiance under scrutiny” is also an article from fee.org.

Despite the nation's commitment to religious freedom and pluralism

In the United States, the exclusion of different religious groups can be a significant source of disunity. The document entitled “Protecting religious freedom” explain the foundational principle of religious liberty is currently under threat due to increasing exploitation for the benefit of certain groups. Despite constitutional protections, this liberty has been misused, impacting the rights of the most vulnerable. We can explain the discrimination do on few religions by the the dominance of Christianity in the United States, in the picture where we can see few religion represented by some people who are wait in a queue to enter in a building who represent him, the USA. Just one person entered the building and it’s the christianism who say “oh snap, i forgot to put your names on the list” destined to the people waiting. Christianity plays a significant role in American society, evident in various aspects of daily life, including the education system. An example illustrating the influence of Christianity in schools is an incident where a child was punished for refusing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. This document show how the religion can be separate the differents people. But it is unconstitutional to punished a student for this. We remember of the first amendment who say  “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion”.

Of course the religion don’t have just negative and disunifying factor. We can see Religion is a powerful force that can bring people together. The religion is a important things in USA but the respect of this too. like say the document talking about the protecting religious freedom. The fundamental right to religious liberty do a powerful for the usa society and protecting religious liberty continues to be a priority for a majority of Americans. Despite the different religion that they can have, the most part of america don’t see that like source of division but rather like a things who unifying different people. And it is this important rule about the religious liberty who unite the people practices different religions and not separate.

To summarize, The power of religion is a double-edged sword, capable of both being a source of conflict and a powerful force for positive change. The religion is today a source of a lot of discrimination but it’s also a big power, especially in the USA who defend this in his first amendment. and it is that do a powerful for american people regardless of their religion
