I am going to speak about the notion "Spaces and exchanges". The definition of exchange is an act of giving and receiving in return, or there is a continuous movement. There are different kinds of exchanges: media, people, trade … To illustrate the notion, I’m going to talk about the american dream.

The American dream makes, more and more, people dream. But what is the American dream ? We shall see in a first part why migrants chooses the United States, Then we shall see in a second part how migrants arrive to the United States.

The American dream is the idea that whoever living in the United States, one can find an opportunity and be rich.

First, we saw last year in the histogram "Faces of immigrants" that illegal immigrants come from mexico to the usa. This document shows that They choose to come to the United States because they find a job, the living conditions are better and there is less crime contrary to their country of origin.

Then, we saw last year also, in the text "The American Dream" written by Chun Yu Wang, a Chinese dressmaker who wants to go to Saipan, an American island in the Pacific Ocean, this dressmaker wants to gain more money by working on this island.

Next, all the migs by Ellis Island to enter in the usa. Indeed, we saw an extract of the diary of Shannon, a girl who tells her story to enter in America. She had tests of entrance. Questions on her job, how much money she had on her and why she came to the United States. Then, there was an examination medical to know if she had no serious disease. At the end of it she was or not accepted

To conclude, I think that the American dream is a world dream for every person arriving to the United States. This idea that everybody has the possibility of having the happiness and has the same luck to succeed without difference of origins or religions, even if today the rich people have more luck to make a success that the others. The American dream attracts many migrants, especially for the money.
