DNL exposé urban population

There is half of inhabitants of urban areas that live in only a few country. China has the largest urban population by far and Indiaa come next. With both of them we are already at 30 per cent of urban population in the world.

As we can see in the graphic below scientist expect that since 2018 until 2050. Only 8 country in the world will be the causes of half the urban population increase. Those are India, china, nigeria, democratic republica of the congo, Pakistan, Indonesia, USA and Bangladesh.

They also expect for 2050

  • the urban areas to grow by 416 million people in India and 255 million in China
  • a nearly 2,5 billion of urban population increase in the world.
  • and a decrease of it are projected for Japan, with a decline of 13.5 million in their urban population and for Ukraine, which is expected to see a decline of nearly 2 million urban inhabitants.

        Whereas The rural population of the world has grown slowly since 1950 and is expected to reach its peak in a few years. The documents date from 2018 so it is already a few years later and the rural population already started to decline.

The majority of the rural population of the world resides in a relatively small number of countries principaly located in asia and africa. The rural population will just increase in a quarter of the countries of the world but mostly in ethiopia or niger
