Trying to Save the Planet with a Hashtag!

Do you want to save the environment? Sure, everyone wants to do it. But there is only a small portion of the population who’s actually doing something. So is #Teamtrees! It’s an organization of influencers who use their voice to inspire everyone in the world to make a difference. This type of group is inspiring is so many ways.

You are probably asking yourself: “but how did this movement start?” First of all, MrBeast just reached 20 million followers on YouTube and he was searching a way to thank all of them for the support.  An anonymous guy on the reddit platform dared him to plant one tree for every follower he had. MrBeast took the challenge to the next level by making this meme into an environmental fundraiser.

After only 48 hours, 4 million dollars were given to this cause. It’s so inspiring that every media streamed and wrote about that. Even Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, gave 1,000,000 dollars! Tobi Lukte, the CEO of Shopify, dethroned him by a 1,000,001 dollars donation. About 600 influencers joined the non-profit the foundation and asked their followers to give trees! Like they say, the power of a group is bigger than a single person. It’s with this kind of person that we will move forward and not backward. A guy with a YouTube channel composed by strange challenges made this by inspiring cause! I will be proud to talk about him to my children. By the time you are reading this, #Teamtrees is about to hit 16,000,000 trees, that’s awesome!

Be the person who’s doing something, not the one who’s always complaining without even trying to do a single thing. This fundraiser is a chance to prove that we want to help, that we want a better environment for our future. Give to this cause or engage yourself in another, that’s not the matter. All we need to remember is to give back to Mother Earth. Do something!
