Nowadays, thanks to the drastic development of the internet, it has never been easier for young people to peek at the life of celebrities. While having those role models can have its own advantages, we should also express our individuality instead of imitating their lifestyle.

How are these role models influencing people? Usually being celebrities or very successful people, they take over social media and that’s how they show the world their way of life. Young people, typically after graduating college, often struggle figuring out how to live their life. By following these influencers, they can learn from their experience and lifestyle, therefore achieve success like them.

However, individuality is also an important factor with which we can succeed. It is what distinguishes us from everyone else, so why should we bother parting it and follow the crowd? Since we are living in a society that is constantly changing every day, in order to keep up, we have to be innovative and different. That is how we can create our own valuable identity, which has always been a big plus.

In my opinion, role models can set good examples, but we should not follow them entirely. We should step out of our comfort zone and try new things, henceforth discover more of our own capability.

In conclusion, even though most role models nowadays set a good example, we should not follow them blindly. Some celebrities out there are not using their platform the way they should have, and we need to be selective when it comes down to choosing a role model. We also need to embrace our sense of individuality so as to succeed in our own unique way.
