So today we’re going to talk about fiction & science, we’re going to see what are the most promising breakthroughs, what is the power of science nowadays. We’re going to talk about the progress of Artificial Intelligence. And also about how we can engine genetically DNA to create what we want.

Does science will make fiction true in the coming years? Or fiction is already copying science? Those are the two major questions to be asked. And I’ll give you all the necessary information to be unbeatable in the subject.

In the XXI century, science permits technology to found its niche in our lives and we cannot imagine a life without technology. But 30 years ago all we know today about technology was just a part of fiction. The first computer was created in the 60’s it name was IBM 1401, it was big as a room and it weight was approximately 4 tons and it price was extortionate. But today you can have a microchip which is the size of your finger and which is 2000 times faster than the first computer and all this for just 40 $. It was just to show you how progress works.

Imagine you are taking a weekend on the moon with your friends. It seems impossible but with the progress that we are making, we can see that with science & technology everything is made possible. Try to put yourself in the place of a child of the 40’s who was imagining a way to be connected to all the people in the world and finding that too stupid and impossible. But nowadays we find that so normal that we forget the past.

To keep talking about the progress of technology we’re going to tackle the brain implants which are considered as one of the most promising breakthroughs of our century. First of all, what is a brain implant and what can we do with it? A brain implant is a nanobot implanted in your brain, a crazy technology that will permit you surf on the Internet, make phone calls, send messages and all this just by using your brain. So in a blink of an eye you’ll have access to all the collective knowledge of humanity. And this will be possible by the year 2020.

Have you ever heard about The Artificial intelligence, which is the engine of technology and the basement of all the automatic electronics objects that you use? But we’re always enhancing its capacities and we’re heading to create robots with intelligence similar or maybe superior than the human one. Pioneers say that in some decades robots will be a part of our lives and we will share everything with them. Massachusetts Institute of Technology ‘MIT’ developed a robot with a visual identification by using neuroscience and data processing.

To talk now about eugenics, have you ever seen the movie Gattaca? A Sci-fi movie where all we do is based on our DNA, the schools where we go, the jobs we have etc. And we can say now that the science has caught up fiction. Because today we can engine genetically DNA to create pre-embryos that will have specific features: like sport abilities, mathematic abilities. We can also use that in a medical way to prevent embryos from diseases for example. Or you can use it for choosing the gender of your baby, which is already possible.

So we can see that the progress is not stopping at all. And we are in a bridge between fiction and science and this bridge is getting smaller and we don’t know if there is still a gap between fiction and
