CHANEL

The House of Chanel known by the name Chanel, is a French fashion house founded by Gabrielle Bonheur Chasnel called "Coco Chanel." The company is now owned by Alain Wertheimer and Gerard Wertheimer, 8th fortune of France in 2010 with 4.5 billion euros.The turnover of the company amounted to almost 2 billion euros in 2011.

History and traditions of the house :

The first Chanel store was opened in 1910 in Paris. It was a hat shop. In 1912, Coco develops its activities by opening with financial help of his fellow Boy Capel, living at 31, rue Cambon near the Place Vendome. The following year, she opened two stores in province, in Deauville and Biarritz second. The house became especially famous for its elegant and revolutionary little black dress, the tweed suit and his iconic No. 5 perfume designed in 1921 by Ernest Beaux who then created the No. 22 (1922), Cuir de Russie (1924), Gardenia (1925) and Wood Islands (1926). All were put on sale in 1986.

Coco Chanel participated in the revolution of high fashion, replacing the traditional corset with the comfort and elegance of simple suits and dresses.
