Social Media and the Workplace – To Be or Not to Be?

The positives aspects are :

 Social media are important to help the company to boost his production

 To improve the integration of employees

 To help them to resolve problems

 To looking for a job

The negatives aspects are what:

 The employees go to social network during working hours

 The employees can give a private information, a hacker can take holding information of the company

 An employees can be in dangers: harass, bully, discriminate

 The downloading and uploading can affect the performance of the different tool.

The 2 negatives aspects which I think is very importants are:

 What employees go to the social network during the work.

there is a decrease of production because employees don’t work. They spend their days to chat on social networks instead of working.

 The infiltration of data.

An employees can publish a private information of the company online and the competitor can use this information to stand out.

And a hacker can take private data and sell it to a competitor to gain money.

The 2 positives aspects which I think is very important are:

 Use internet to resolve a problems.

When employees have a problem, they can use internet to search a solution. They don’t need to contact an others employees to help him to resolve his problems if he can find a solution online.

 Helps to concentrate.

Employees are more concentrated, it can improve the work and therefore the productivity of the company.

Dear Director,

You have recently decided to block the Internet access to employees.

I understand that the internet can cause problems as for example the connection of employees on social networks and the diffusion of information online.

I think what the Internet can be useful for employees to may research information they lack, communicate with customers and colleagues and finalize projects.

To avoid any problems, I propose to allow internet access to employees, but any time by blocking access to social networks, giving each password and username, apply sanctions...
