In 1895, Théophile Bader and his cousin Alphonse Kahn opened a fashion store in a small haberdasher's shop at the corner of rue La Fayette and the Chaussée d'Antin, in Paris. In 1896, their company purchased the entire building at n°1 rue La Fayette; in 1905 they acquired the buildings at number 40 41 boulevard Haussmann and rue number 15 rue de la Chaussée d'Antin. The architect Georges Chedanne designed the store at the Haussmann location, where a glass and steel dome were finished in 1912.

Today les Galleries lafayette has become one of the most famous place for shopping in the city of lights.This Paris department store is famous for being worlds unto themselves. Galeries Lafayette department store dominate Boulevard Haussmann, we count more than 60 stores concentrating top designer collections for men and women, food shopping, home design, jewelry, cosmetics each floor has a thematic. It prestige and recognition is mostly due to the numerous luxury brands present such as Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Guerlain, Marcs Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Cacharel , Gucci and many many others.

Finally You can tell that the building itselfs is a piece of art , on the outside there's shopwindows wich in the fashion designers expose their creations in a magical , unique and extravagant way.
