Since the Declaration of Independance America became a daring quest ! People expect the American dream , who represent for them a better life as the declaration promise : life , liberty and poursuit of hapiness. At the beginning of the quest , around 19 century, people want to escape from their countries where their live in bad condition : famine as in Ireland ( the great patatoes famine ) or diseases and persecutions . That the first face of immigration to America but can we say if nowadays the situation has changed ?

This topic can be link also with our theme space and exchange insofar immigration affect, in our case, different countries through the time and permite to create a national identity by the mix of population.

What is the american dream ? The American Dream is a national ethos of the united States . The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the second sentence of the United States Declaration of Independence which proclaims that "all men are created equal" and that they are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

The American Dream was founded in 1776 .The idea of an American Dream is older than the United States, when people began to come up with all sorts of hopes and aspirations for the new and largely unexplored continent , the big rush.

This idea came back during the Great Depression the American Dream represented a reaffirmation of traditional American hopes"' .

The American dream is the idea according to which any person living in the United States can become prosperous that pushed people to left the own country were they live in bad condition . But that not change through the time just their origine change . In the past most of the immigrant came from Europe but now it's most Asian , Latinos and africans.

The American dream represent a way to find a challenging job and to live in better condition. As we study in class people goes to America to realize their dream but that doesn't happen as they planned for most of them.

For some lucky person the American dream realise but for the rest the American dream stay a Myth . To understand this point of view we have the song of Madonna " American life " where Madonna expose her point of view of the American dream , people want to stick to a kind of image , become what they're are not ... The song is a criticism of the American way of life as being selfish and materialistic .

If the American dream is just an image what is the reality ?

According to Ed Laury and his survey People are attracted by what they want on tv but the truth is that the American is really individualist . The American dream represent an expectation of being rich , have children end a big house . But some people expect an ideal like the possibilty of making choices and Freedom

According to the Senator Benard Sanders ( Vermont ) America a have some positive aspect like a great expanding middle class an an opportunity to go to college but in fact they have the most inequal distribution of wealth and income comparing to rest of contries . " Today in America we have more people who live in poverty " said he . His words lighted an important fact if immigrant believe this
