Dear Diary,

Today, I want to react to a diary I read in The Freedom Writers Diary. The number 6 is talking about someone who lost one good friend because he was killed without reason one night. I find it extremely sad. He wonders how the neighbourhood will handle another dead kid. I wonder myself how they can continue to live in a city where innocents, can die every night in their face. I don't even know who this teenager is but I wish I could do something to help the people like him. Losing a family member or a loved one once in your life is frequent, still desperately difficult, but normal. But losing your friends and neighbours because of a mysterious gunshot is incredibly stupid.

Diary 9

Dear Diary,

When I read Diary number 9, I thought how difficult this boy's life must have been. (Tito probably) Banging and dealing drugs is not what he likes so he is tagging. He says it gives him a Thrill. It's a way of expressing himself or escaping from the rough neighbourhood where he was born. The way he describes his talent and his artistic passion makes me angry: He has such small chances to succeed in what he likes. Because of his origins, it will take him all his strength to pursue his dream. I wish I could do something to help teens like him to achieve.
