Book summary Lord of the ring the fellowship of the ring

Introduction

The Lord of the Rings is an important fantasy book. It is written by J.R.R. Tolkien and tells a long story that takes place in a magical world called Middle-earth. The story is divide into three volume. In the first volume, The Fellowship of the Ring, we meet many important characters and learn about a dangerous ring.

Presentation of the Author

J.R.R. Tolkien was born in 1892 and grow up in England. He loved old languages and ancient stories. He became a teacher at Oxford University and studied medieval literature. His life and work, including his experiences in the First World War, helped him create his own world. He wrote The Hobbit in 1937 and later wrote The Lord of the Rings. Today, many people see him has one of the father of modern fantasy.

Structure of the Book

The Fellowship of the Ring is divided into two parts. In the first part, Tolkien shows us the peaceful life in the Shire and the importance of the ring that Bilbo gives to Frodo. The chapters mix calm moments with scenes of danger. We see the hobbits left the Shire, meet new friends, and face threat like the dark riders. Each chapter makes you want to read more

Details of the Story to of the book

The story begins with a big birthday party for Bilbo. After the party, Bilbo leaves the Shire and gives his magique ring to Frodo. Soon after, Gandalf, a wizard, tells Frodo that the ring is very dangerous. Frodo decides to leave the Shire to keep the ring safe. He is joined by his friends Sam, Merry, and Pippin.

During their journey, they face many dangers. They try to escape from the dark riders. They meet a strange man called Tom Bombadil who is not affected by the ring. Later, they stay at an inn called The Prancing Pony in Bree. There, they meet Aragorn, a kind and brave man who helps them. Frodo is hurt by a dark rider at a place called Weathertop. Still, the group continues their journey and reaches Rivendell, where the elders meet to decide what to do with the ring.

Description of the Main Characters

Frodo Baggins: A humble hobbit chosen to carry the Ring. He shows great courage and strength as he faces many dangers.

Samwise Gamgee: Frodo’s loyal friend and gardener. His loyalty and bravery help Frodo continue his journey.

Gandalf the Grey: A wizard who guides the Fellowship. He sacrifices himself in Moria to save his friends.

Aragorn (Strider): The rightful heir to the throne of Gondor. He is a strong warrior and a skilled leader.

Merry and Pippin: Frodo’s cousins and close friends. Their courage grows as they face challenges.
