Miami is situed in the south east of USA, in the state of Florida.

In 1513 Juan Ponce de León is the first European to land in Florida, supposedly seeking out the fountain of youth. He misses the fountain, but does find the Gulf Stream current, an extremely important current for navigators.

In 1565 Pedro Menéndez de Avilés lands in Florida and founds the city of St Augustine, the first permanent (European) settlement in what is now the continental United States.

In 1896 Henry Flagler finishes construction of his railroad; Miami is incorporated. Miami, a small city quite literally at the edge of America, is accessible to the rest of the country by overland travel.

And now Florida is part of fifty that make up the USA. Despite the many ravages that have managed the Florida, this state is still alive as one of the well developed tourism destinations from beaches and many hotels

Miami is a major city in the southeastern corner of Florida, in the United States. Miami and the surrounding metropolitan area are situated on northern Biscayne Bay between the Everglades and the Atlantic Ocean. By population, Miami is the second-largest city in Florida and the largest city of Miami-Dade County. In terms of land area, the city of Miami is one of the smallest major cities in the United States. Miami has a tropical wet-and-dry climate, whereas seasons are roughly determined by precipitation regimes. Tourism is also an important industry: the beaches of Greater Miami draw visitors from across the country and around the world, and the Art Deco nightclub district in South Beach (in Miami Beach) is widely regarded as one of the most glamourous in the world. However, it is important to note that Miami Beach is not a part of the city of Miami.

The Miami Art Museum (MAM) is an art museum located in Downtown Miami. It was founded in 1984 as the Center for the Fine Arts, and in 1996 became the Miami Art Museum. The MAM dedicates itself to contemporary art and is located at 101 West Flagler Street in Downtown Miami in the same Miami Cultural Plaza as the Historical Museum of Southern Florida and the Miami-Dade Public Library. The MAM receives over 60,000 visitors a year.

In Miami they are many neighborhoods but the principal are Little Havana with 76 000 peoples, Allapattah with 55 000 peoples and Flagami wihth 50 000 people.
