CONCLUSION

INTRODUCTION

         The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a serious impact on all areas of life. Increased reliance on home educational resources has led to substantial disruptions to learning for many children and is exacerbating learning inequalities. The ambitious education goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are threatened by national and local school closures around the world. To better understand the evolution of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in order to prevent its spread around the world, our study will generalize on the transmission, symptoms and treatment of COVID-19.

DEFINITION

        COVID-19 is an illness caused by a coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2. WHO first learned of this new virus on December 31, 2019, when an outbreak of viral pneumonia cases was reported in Wuhan, People's Republic of China.

DEVELOPPEMENT

  1. Covid-19 protests

  COVID-19 manifests itself in several ways: Sneezing, onset or worsening of coughing, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing and a temperature equal to or greater than 38°C.

  1. Mode of Transmission

Several studies have shown that COVID-19 is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is transmitted from person to person in several ways.

          The virus can spread when small liquid particles are expelled through the mouth or nose when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, sings or breathes deeply. These particles come in different sizes, ranging from large “respiratory droplets” to smaller “aerosols.”

       According to currently available data, the virus is mainly transmitted between people who are in close contact with each other, usually within one meter (small distance). A person can become infected when they inhale aerosols or droplets containing the virus or when they come directly into contact with their eyes, nose or mouth.

        The virus can also be transmitted in poorly ventilated and/or crowded indoor spaces, where people tend to stay longer because aerosols remain airborne or travel distances greater than one meter (long distance).

  1. Mode of Propagation

         Any situation in which people are in close proximity to each other for extended periods increases the risk of transmission. Indoor spaces, especially when poorly ventilated, pose more risks than outdoor spaces. Activities, in which the volume of particles expelled from the mouth is greater, such as singing or breathing heavily during physical exercise, also increase the risk of transmission.

          Transmission is facilitated in places and situations meeting the following 3 criteria:

Crowded spaces;

Close contact, for example when people are talking while standing very close to each other;

Confined and enclosed spaces poorly ventilated.

The risk of spreading COVID-19 is higher in places where these three criteria coincide.

  1. Symptoms

        The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

Fever; chills; sore throat.

•       Other less common symptoms may occur in some patients:

Muscle aches ; fatigue or severe fatigue; runny nose, stuffy nose or sneezing; headache ; dizziness; new and persistent cough; chest tightness or chest pain; shortness of breath; hoarsely ; heaviness of arms/legs; nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain/stomach aches or diarrhea; loss of appetite ; loss or change in taste or smell; difficulty sleeping.
