Dialogue

T: Hello everybody! Today we are with a Mexican immigrant to learn more about the life of an immigrant. Hello sir!

R: Hello!

T: So, when did you move to USA and where do you came from in Mexico?

R: I came from The State of Chihuahua, the north of the country. I moved when I Was six with my father and my 2 sisters.

T: Ok, do you remember your crossing?

R: yes, it is completely buried deep inside of me. One evening, my father said to us “Tomorrow, we have a new life” My sisters are older than me so they understood immediately the situation. Once we left our little house to begin the Journey to the USA, I knew that my life wouldn’t look like before.

T: Ok, and were you scared about that, about the unknown?

R: Of course! Who doesn’t but I couldn’t live any more in Mexican, the life is very difficult there. My father understood that and wanted the best for us so it was the best decision

T: So, you don’t regret?

R: Absolutely Not! I wouldn’t have had my job and my life if I had stayed in Mexico

T: Yes, so you are a cook in a big restaurant in Los Angeles, you have known 2 children and an American wife. Have you fulfilled all your ambitions?

R: Yes, I think so. I come from so far away of that so I can be proud of me and enjoy my situation.

T: ok, to finish, can you tell us what you think about the impact of Mexican immigration on the American economy?

R: Oh… you know there is the cliché “Mexican immigrants are bad, when they come, they do nothing, they just steal” but it’s absolutely wrong. Most of them as soon as they arrive look for a job and don’t have bad ideas in their mind. In a way, Mexican immigrants can make American economy becoming stronger.

T: Ok thank you for this interview sir! I hope you enjoyed. See you later
