the full name of the company is EQUANT

it's one of the leader in network and services providing solutions for enterprises in the world.

it's a subsidiary of Orange company.

It’s a internet access provider , it sells and provides communication solutions to connect companies on internet or interconnect company's and theirs subsidiary together over a private network .

The Equant company ( which first name was SITA ) was created in 1949. it was founded by

eleven airport companies that decided to create a huge telecommunication network to interconnect all airports in the world and share their network infrastructure.

The SITA name was chosen because it means in French société international de telecommunications aéronautiques ( in english international company of aeronautical telecommunications). The first business of the company was to provide a network to interconnect all airports companies to have a big and powerful communication network in the world.

in 1980 SITA decided to use this world communications network to propose business services to others clients that are not in airport business and to expand its network infrastructure .

In 1997 the SITA name changed to EQUANT and the new company started to sell new service products like messaging ( mail and collaborative solutions ) security ( Firewall , VPN etc) and hosting ( web hosting servers that hosts applications for clients business ) to be able to bring a global business package solution to customers that want to externalise their information system data.

.Now the EQUANT company is part of OBS ( Orange Bussiness services ) brand of Orange SA that sells communications solutions to companies only. Orange SA provides communications solutions to public people.

The new products that propose recently Equant is the cloud computing , instead of having your own computer , you share it with others clients somewhere in the world and you buy only a service ( pay as a service - ) , big data solutions is a system that collects huge volume of datas from internet , mobile phones , all connected objects and try to make accurate analyses to help you taking the good decision in operational or marketing business to increase your cost efficiency.

the Equant company is based in two hundred countries on all continents and can offer

a powerful and reliable communication network and services all over the world.

Ten thousands people in the world work for the company , some of its prodigious clients are

GDF ( french gaz company) , LVMH group ( a leader in luxury industry ) , JTI ( Japan Tobacco international )
