        Dear Mrs Dupont,

My name’s Belinda McArty and I’m living in Gilead, despite of the fact that I didn’t want this kind of life. I need you to help me to let the world know that my life here is in hell. Please write down an article in your newspaper and let’s hope that people wwill react and realize that even in a developped country, horrible things can happen to women.

So my real name is Thea Rogers and like other women my identity has been skipped for awaiding rebellion.

We have no more rights and no power, we can’t use our skills for whatever. My biggest regret is to be a fertil woman because now I’m reduced to have a life of servitude for commanders. When they want to have sex, they come to see me or one of the other women and we even can’t decide to have abortion if we become pregnant, because there is no law forbiding sexual harassment. We lose our self-esteem, we fell dirty to be used like sexual objects.

Men have a total power and a total hold on us, we can’t express our own opinion without censorship.

We are not more who we used to be !

Because they decide for us an they erase our personalities, we become dependant and have no choice but obey.

We are not the masters of our lives and we would like to world to stop being blind of what we are living.

Unfortunately we regreet that mary people don’t open their eyes and face the thruth. They prefer to ignore the problem and pretend to have no clue about it. We wonder why ? Fear of reaction influent people or just have to shut up…

Men hold power and it seems to be the most important thing for many people… Anyway we are human people, born with civil rights and a free speech. We would love to have them back.

Thank you very much for your time and and understanding I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Belinda McArty
