The brand was created in 1978 by Gianni Versace called Gianni Versace Donna. It’s one of the most famous and iconic Italian brand. Gianni Versace was born on the 2nd December 1946. He has always been in the fashion world since he was young.

In 1979 he had his first collaboration with Richard Avedon who was a famous photographer (he photographed Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot…)

In 1980 Versace has established relationships with the world of entertainment creating costume for Opera and ballets, for example for Dionysos in 1984.

He was murdered by Andrew Cunanan the 15 jully 1997.

His older brother became the Chief executive officer and her sister became vice president and the artistic director since 2004, Donatella’s daughter, Allegra Versace has 50% of the company by the will of Gianni Versace.

Versace with her line Versace Atelier is again a “corresponding Member” of the Chambre Syndicale de Haute couture since 2012 and scrolls during the official calendar of Paris Fashion Week earlier this year. This line Versace Atelier has as such the highly regulated name of Haute Couture.

In 2013, Lady Gag became the muse of the brand.

In March 2018, Donatella Versace announces the end of the use of the natural fur in the brand’s collections, which is welcomed by animal welfare association.

Finally, on the 25th September 2018, the American company Michael Kors bought the famous Italian brand for a total of approximately 1,83 billion euros.

The incarnation of Gianni towards Medusa is based on a more seductive representation of the deathly legendary, Medusa is evocative of the power, strength, and beauty that constitutes a favorable sense of mythology. The Versace medusa head, as it appears in the brand's logo, is an expression of Versace's vision: it encompasses the taste of tradition and the classic nuance with its desire to amaze with public drawings that strike by their brilliance, originality and style.

The website is modern and uncluttered presents all the collection with pictures and the customers can put a “like” with a direct link to Instagram and they can write their opinion.

The collection is simple and extravagant for adults and children. They also product table service. But Versace is still a luxury brand.
