Introduction
This report is based on the practicum project of digital marketing for askdave.ie which is
currently, to some extent, on its initial or developing stage. Askdave.ie is featured as an
online estimating tool, therefore engaging on digital marketing especially is essential to
create awareness. Social media defines the various activities that integrate technology, social
interaction and the construction of words, pictures, video and audio. Furthermore, the social
media marketing is nowadays hugely popular because it is being used for reaching customers
online. The temporary situation of askdave.ie leaves our group great space to conduct
possible strategies. Our goal is to reach out to as many users as possible to register on this
website and enable to get them dig deeper using this tool. One of the successful sign is higher
traffic statistics showing in Google Analytics on second page of the website. In order to
achieve this goal, in this project, we will be conducting a various tasks or projects and
appropriate report to help achieve our goal. This report will show a breakdown of all the team
has done to help Askdave.ie engage in digital marketing.
Company Profile
www.askdave is an online construction project estimating tool developed by Redbrick
Construction Limited. The company is owned and managed by David O'Reilly and Paul Byrne
who have over 25 years experience working together in the Construction and Project
Management of prime residential and commercial properties in Dublin. www.askdave was
designed with the customer in mind, to bring clarity and help in pricing their Construction
project, whether it be a simple house extension or a totally new build, and to make the whole
process easier and more transparent than it has ever been for those with no Building
background.

Development of a plan of action
Appendix And the project success can be determined by the successful completion of a
task within a specific time and under a cost and performance constraints; managing these
three elements is crucial (Kezner 2009). And a project manager needs to find the balance
between these three elements, because the lack of proper time management will result in the
project not being delivered on time. When the cost is not also monitored adequately will
result in the project being completed over budget or may become incomplete because of lack
of funds. In the same way, the performance needs to be monitored to avoid the project being
too complex.
Also a project management needs three complementary stages namely planning, scheduling
and controlling. Regardless of the project management techniques adopted, the three stages
are required. Planning is the stage where all initial works are carried out. It helps to determine
what could be done and their relevance to the project requirements and specification.
According to Lewis (2011), the planning should be done by the team that will carried out the
tasks involved and not the project manager alone, because collectively and having the skills,
they could adequately estimate the work to be carried out. Scheduling is the stage where a
time frame is added to the tasks identified in the planning stage. The scheduling involves
assess the skills of the team and estimating a time for completion of various tasks and their
sequence and is carried out as a team. Controlling is the responsibility of the tea leader. It
helps to measure and monitor the work done. At this stage, thorough evaluation are
performed to check the quality and if the tasks done fit the overall requirements and specifics.

PLANNING
From the list of practicum projects, our group chose Askdave.ie because the client planned to
conduct digital marketing on their web tool to help users estimate the cost for free. After
approval, we decided to assign a project manager to coordinate all activities and serve as
representative before the client and despite having a project manager, the group worked as a
team and the work load equally divided.
After a primary meeting with the client, as outlined in the research part of the report, we
gathered that Askdave.ie was a new website and the motivation behind the client designed it
to be used for free with the prospect of getting construction contracts or business for their
main company DP Development, currently renamed RedBricks constructions. We were also
informed that from the analytics previously done on the site, the bounce rate on the site was
very high despite the low user traffic.
The meeting helps us define a plan of action for the project which will be outline the lines to
follow.
