Thursday, Oct 15 - Mock Interviews

You can choose to apply for a position to an imaginary company or a real company (Google, an accounting office, LABL, The World & You, your current job etc.). So, chose a position and a company in case I ask you about your work.

The Interviewer (me)

I will pick 10 random questions from a bag. I will cut out and fold the questions. The questions will be the questions we discussed in class. I will not know what questions I will choose. Once I choose all 10, I proceed to ask the interviewee the questions.

The Interviewee

The interviewee should have prepared answers for all the questions. The answers shouldn't be memorized. However, they should be well thought out and eloquent. Take your time answering and don't feel rushed.

ROLE PLAYING

Before the interview commences, the interviewee will walk into the room. The interviewer will greet the interviewee and shake hands (we will not do this for COVID!). They will present themselves and the interviewee will say the position he or she is applying for.

Example:

Interviewee: (walks into classroom) Hello. My name is Clauda SAINT SOUD. I am here for an interview for the position of _______________.

Interviewer: (shakes hands) Nice to meet you. I'm Mrs. Ossanna. Come in.

(interview commences)

You do not have to say these exact things as this is just an example. You can create your own scenarios and be creative. This is just for your reference to guide you along the way. Once the interview is finished, you will say goodbye to each other. Make it professional. Then you will switch roles and start all over again.
