In UK, power is represented by the monarchy which is a system. Only one people rule this monarchy and have a lot of power. Power is a concept which enables to a person to take important decisions. Queen Elizabeth the second is this person who have all the power. She became Queen of the United Kingdom upon the death of her father, George 6, in 1952. She was born on April 1926, the 21, in London. She has been rules this monarchy since 61 years. We may wonder whether Queen Elizabeth the second have power during her reign. How is she perceived by her people? To start, we will see how Queen’s power is represented and then we will see what Queen’s image is for her people.

Queen Elizabeth the second is a dutiful Queen. She is aware of the duty that awaits her, her responsibilities and all the obstacles she may have to overcome with determination. Because of her commitment, she is seen by Annigoni as a monarch alone in the problems of her responsibility. He pained this solitary figure in 1995 in a full-length portrait. In this portrait, she is wearing the robes of the order of the garter which symbolizing the beginning of her reign. She is looking at a distance, pondering over her responsibilities she has to overcome alone.

Despite its power and her implication for her duty, some people protest against her monarchy.

For example, the sex pistols, which is a punk rock band created a controversial version of the national anthem, God Save the Queen. This song was banned but it helps them to be famous today. On the CD cover, Queen Elizabeth the second is gagged and blindfold. There is a double meaning. They denounce that Queen Elizabeth the second refuse to see the problems of the monarchy or she can’t see because of the protocol.

Another example denounces the monarchy. During the Diamond jubilee, anti-monarchists protested against this unfair hereditary system which privileged only a very few. But they had to face royalists which back the Queen. It’s a case of a bitter bit. They were ridiculed.

Even if there is a keep in mind against the monarchy, this monarchy is very popular and positive. The Queen is loved and her monarchy too. Queen Elizabeth the second has a very positive image.

Indeed, she is loved because of her personality. She is approachable and more human than royalists. This close Queen is depicted by Andy Warhol in a silkscreen printing which represent a vivid portrait of Queen Elizabeth the second. She is smiling us, so she doesn’t appear haughty. She is treated like a celebrity. It’s symbolizing her popularity. Moreover, she wants to be close with her people, she wants to mind with them. The text “the Queen and her people” explains that she wants to set a good example, so she encourages people to read. Indeed she feels like a normal person, she read to chill out and to do what her people do even if she is a dutiful queen.

To conclude, Queen Elizabeth the second is a dutiful queen who is aware of her responsibilities. Her popularity shows that she has a lot of power. Even if a minority is against this monarchy, a lot love Queen Elizabeth the second and the monarchy, which is very popular. She has a very positive image because of her implication with her people. She is indeed very human and approachable because it is very important for her to understand her people.
