Biographie de Steave Jobs (document en anglais)

Hello members of the committee. Today, I will tell you the story of Steve Jobs, the man who changed the world.

Steven Paul Jobs was adopted. Many people are hopeless when they learn that; Steve wasn’t. To the contrary, He has always said that Paul and Clara Jobs were his parents.

When he was 13, he created a frequency meter and earned a job in a firm where he discovered the job of engineer whereas I earned my first job in a fast food when I was 17…

In September 1971, Steve Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak created a blue box in order to call for a long time freely and also, they cheated the telephone companies. Those guys will always amaze me.

Steve said that he had done 3 important things in his life:

-First, he stopped study and took a calligraphy class. Doing that, he invented multiple typefaces for the Mac. He declared in 2005 at Stanford: “And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it's likely that no personal computer would have them.”

Today, there are hundreds of typefaces thanks to this guy.

-The second thing is the fact that he tried out LSD. LSD gave him ideas and made him as famous as he is today.

-He learnt spirituality and went often to Hare Krishna to eat on Sundays. Also, he travelled all over India and he came back to USA with shaven head and wearing traditional clothes. Moreover, he said that Bill Gates would have much more open mind if younger, he had tried acid once or if he had gone to an Ashram.

But Steve Jobs didn’t only create Apple. When he was dismissed in September 1985, he created NeXT. A big part of the actual operating system of Apple, Mac OS X, was invented by NeXT.

In 1986, he bought the division Graphic Groups of Lucasfilm. He transformed it in Pixar Animation Studios which got a success in 1995 with the movie Toy Story. He stayed general director until his purchase by Walt Disney Company in 2006.

The second part of my statement is the impact of Steve Jobs’ technology.

Today, there is more than 1.600 billion Internet users on the world of which 231 million are Americans. We are the second country which has the most of Internet users. The first one is China.

Wasn’t Steve Jobs born, all of them wouldn’t have a computer today.

When he died on October the fifth of 2011, all the world paid tribute to him.

Everybody has, today, an Iphone, an Ipod, a Mac or something which comes from Apple. That’s why Steve Jobs has to be elected
