Critics :

The little girl with a red balloon is probably the most popular art work of Banksy. It was made in 2002 in London on a stairs next to a pavement, always used by pedestrians. This art work have been made many times because it's existing in more than one example today. Banksy used stencils for make this art work. On the wall, we can see the message “There is always hope”.         The little girl holds her arm toward her red balloon which is heart-shaped.                [pic 1][pic 2]

I particularly like this art work because it evokes liberty. The art work is on the wall which is actually a sign. We can understand that the wall is a privation of the liberty. The little girl is trying to catch the balloon (liberty) but she missed it.        [pic 3]

For the “birthday” of the third year of war in Syria, Banksy help the country by creating the hashtag #WithSyria. The artist has been involved with major ONG such as Amnesty International. For this occasion, Banksy has veiled one of his most famous work: “The little girl with a red balloon”.
