MILLIONS OF THINGS TO SHARE

Intro-

Today, I am going to speak about the notion of spaces and exchanges. The different spaces of the world are nowadays more and more connected to each other. The exchange can appear on many forms: people, economy, social, politic, environment, …

I would answer the following question: What is the impact oh the sharing economy on our lifestyles and traditional business? to define some notions of the problem, sharing economy correspond to the sharing of resources (goods and services), it allows people to transact directly with one another. Lifestyle means the way of life. And the traditional business corresponds to the commercial activity.

Sharing economy admits many positive aspects. The oral document “The benefits of the sharing economy” claims that sharing economy include borrowing, renting, bartering, swapping… People can rent out a spare room, in their house. This principle allows people to make money or save money. It is a win-win proposition. Sharing economy has several environmental advantages because she reduces waste, and gas emission if you practise carpooling.                                             The second oral document speaks of share shops, here located in Frome in Somerset in England. This share shop is created because it is one way of solving a problem: it’s just silly to buy something expensive you will probably use just once or twice! Share shops works likes a library. People borrow items such as power tools, garden spade, sewing machine, and even cooking utensils!  Before they lent objects. The concept is simple, you share things which belong to people of the community. You exchange goods. Just a member-ship donation between 1 and 10 pounds, another small donation whenever you borrow. Then, you have seven days to return the item. The manager of this share shop in Frome says that an electric drill is used only thirteen minutes in lifetime. So, people should share their things with everyone instead of buying or leaving in a cupboard. As in the first document, sharing resources reduce waste and carbon too. And reduce also wanted items. Sharing economy facilitate the life of each in the various domains but it contains obviously some negative points.
