Hey, what’s up people, it’s mateo for a new video.

Today we’re talking about music ! But not any kind of music, we’re talking about my favorite singer, Mickeal jackson AkA the king of pop !!

Today I wanted to introduce you, one of the best protest song that he made ; Black or White.

But before talking about this famous single, let’s do a quick reminder about who is Mickeal Jackson, just in case you live in a case.

Mickeal Joseph jackson was born on 29 August nineteen-fifty height in the indiana. Thanks to his brothers, he soon became interested in music, and at 6 he started to sing. Quickly, he began a professional career as a singer in the band Jackson 5 founded with his older brothers at the age of 11.

In nineteen seventy one, he began his solo career and left the jackson 5 in nineteen heighty four.

Thus in 1991 he released the first single from the studio album "dangerous » called black or white. He reached the top of the billboard and held it for 7 weeks and he has also been certified platinum 3 times in the USA thanks to his song. Inside this single, he blames racism and intolerance, but also denounces intolerance towards the poorest and the lack of equality in their access to human rights. He tells us that racism is useless because we are all part of the same species. He wrote this song in order to get peace on earth between black and white people. According to Mickeal Jackson, some people prefer to be afraid of no sheets rather than trying to help them. During the clip video, we can see different people who belong to diefferent culture and across his message about black of white, we have to understand also that he speaks about all the culture and not only european and african culture.

When he says : « I said if you’re thinkin’ of being my brother it don’t matter if you’re black of white », He insists on the lack of importance he gives to skin colour, which he does several times in the song, so that we take him as an example and condems those who don’t do it.

Moreover, here are some more lyrics from the song : « I’m not going to spend my life being a color »

That’s why he has choosen to be two

I’m sorry a bout that.

more seriously, he criticizes the fact that black people are only considered as a colour and explains that he finds it unfair to have to endure this discrimination daily.

Futhermore, what I find interesting about this song is that he uses the power of song to draw a link between his message and the energy of rock n' roll.

And this is part of the power of art on society, you can get a message across in a different way. A way that speaks to everyone and more likely to intrigue people. Like the music, street art has a big power on our society. We can get any message we want. Some people would want to tell that the world is too dirty in order to raise awarness about pollution, others want to support population of some countries like Palestine and show solidarity with their population.
