Invented in the 60s, the Internet was first used for military purposes, however, nowadays, it has become a part of our daily life. In 2020, 4.66 billion people were counted as having access to the Internet, which represents 56% of the global population. From watching funny cat videos, viewing news, sending an email to your boss, the Internet enables us to do almost everything! The Internet has the power to bring every human together in one place.  It has a key role in our lives and helps us on a daily basis to make our lives better. One of the best things the Internet has to offer is connecting us to the world.

Firstly, we can use the Internet in order to exchange with all the people of the world. By using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp, we can communicate, talk, and share our ideas with the whole world. In 2019, it was estimated that 79% of Americans were using social networks, and this number keep growing each year. Thanks to the Internet and social media, you can stay up to date with family and friends or discover new people around the world no matter where they are located. A report from the Pew Research Center found that 57% of teenagers met a new friend online. Nowadays, social media enables us to connect ourselves to the world by joining communities and worthwhile causes. Sending messages, posting images, commenting, liking all this allows us to interact with the rest of the world. In conclusion, thanks to the internet, we can communicate with the whole world.

Secondly, we can use the Internet in order to connect us to the world by keeping us up to date with the latest news in the world. For example, we all have Google on our smartphones and when we open it, it directly shows the latest international news. In addition to this, there are many other means such as online newspapers that allow us to see what is going on in the world. Knowing and understanding what is currently happening around us has always been important because it allows us to have a better understanding of the world. With the Internet, we are always in contact with the world. Therefore, the Internet allows us to stay connected with everything going on in the world.

Finally, we can use the Internet to access knowledge from all over the world. From the alphabet to nanostructure research papers, there is nothing you cannot find on the internet. It has never been so easy to get information, we just have to type in what we want to know and get it through the Internet. Every day, Google processes more than 3.5 billion searches. Whether it is for work, school or preparing a meal, we all need information. Thanks to the Internet, we can access knowledge from all over the world in a few seconds. Everyone around the world can share his knowledge by creating a website, writing an online article, or a Wikipedia page. To conclude, the Internet allows you to share and access knowledge from all over the world.
