I'm going to talk about the notion Spaces and exchanges. To begin with, I'd like to give a definition of spaces. A space can be geographic like a place and countries. Then, an exchange it’s the act of giving or receiving something in substitution for something else. The word exchange can take different forms: economic/cultural/or movement of people. Today, exchanges are facilitated thanks to the new technologies like internet. These interactions have transformed the world sometimes for better, sometimes for worse.

In this presentation we will study globalization.

In what extent globalization can be positive or negative for the culture and development of each country?

For some people this may be positive but others think that there is a loss of cultural diversity.

We studied a recording. Nigerians have their own culture, dance and music. It’s in danger because of globalization, they are worried.

We studied two pictures about this phenomenon. They show that we live in an Americanized world as globalization is often assimilated to westernization. Indeed, many multinational corporations are American like KFC and Levi’s. Wherever you go, it’s as if you still where in the USA.

Besides, Western companies contribute to polluting the planet excessively.

Moreover, globalization creates a lot of competition between countries to be more attractive economically. For example, McDonald’s sued McCurry for 8 years over the use of the “Mc” because they were afraid of competition.

During this oral I talked about Starbucks and its expansion. It’s a handicap for small coffee shops because the competition is hard. Indeed, Starbucks is the most powerful coffee shop today.

Sadly, Globalization causes conflicts and illegality
