First, A hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. It can be the main character in a book or a film or a person with superhuman qualities. And A myth is a story that may or may not be true.

We took as an example in the chapter myth and heroes, the life of pirates.

we saw, how we can qualify the pirates. I can say the Pirates are persons who attacks and robs merchants ships, they usually look like a mans with a big beard, they have an eye patch, they can also have a wooden leg and often have a parrot on their shoulder.

Pirates were better treated, and had more freedoms and rights than “normal” sailors. On a pirate ship, both the captain and the quartermaster (the person in charge of food and living conditions on board) were elected by the crew.

we saw during classes, the Golden Age of Piracy, is a designation given to usually piracy in the maritime history of the early modern period. The Golden Age of Piracy spans the 1650s to the late 1720s and covers three separate outbursts of piracy, To begin the first period it's :

The buccaneering period of approximately 1650 to 1680, characterized by Anglo-French seamen based on Jamaica attacking Spanish colonies and shipping in the Caribbean.

The second period it is :

The Pirate Road of the 1690s, was a sailing followed by certain mainly English pirates. The Pirate Road was extensive with the routes of the East India Company ships, of Britain and other nations. Pirates take spices and other stuffs onerous.

To finish the last steps of the golden age it is :

The post-Spanish succession period stretching from 1716 to 1726, when Anglo-American sailors and privateers leave the country at the end of the War of Spanish Succession, turns to piracy in the Caribbean to conduct a peaceful life and not having rules.

It should be known that the pirates had a rulebook, to divide the stolen goods equitably and to lead a calm life on board, found rules like:

Don’t Steal from Pirates

No person to game at cards or dice for money

To desert the ship or their quarters in battle, was punished with death.

Nowadays the pirates exist but we speak most often of pirates for the sea shepherd who defend the marine animals, especially whales and dolphins in Asian countries. But we also talk about hackers hackers they are virtual pirates, who like their ancestors stole confidential information on the net.

To conclude, I think the concept of myths and heroes has an important place in the society. We must not forget that the definition hero is subjective, it depends on us and society. However, a fictional hero as real must be courageous, honest, just, that is to say have qualities. Define someone as hero is acceding to its causes, goals, which can sometimes be good and just as bad or faked. Some people or characters are considered heroes in reality impostors or corrupted. Like the pirates i think a little of pirate are not heroes nut are monsters.
