Caribbean music genres are diverse. They are from Africa, Europe, Indian and have indigenous influences, created by descendants of Africa Slaves. Some of the styles are :

  • Salsa : 1952’s
  • Merengue : 1950’s
  • Calypso : 1973’s
  • Reggae : 1960’s
  • Soca : 1970’s

I’m talk about : Soca. According to many Soul and Calypso, were combined in Trinidad to from a new style of music called Soca which quickly became very popular.

Soca is a Caribbean musical genre and a particularly popular dance in Trinidad and Tobago. It is a version accelerated by the Calypso (Soca is the contraction of Soul-Calypso).

She was born in Trinidad’s Carnival, in the 1970’s. The first pieces of Soca evoked Trinidad’s social problems and politics bur the music was transformed little by little into music of release.

Soca developed a lot in Guyana and on the English-speaking Islands of the Caribbean particularly on Lesser Antilles. In several of these countries, competitions of better pieces or groups of Soca are organized for the Carnival.

Four beats to distinguish themselves particularly in Soca:

  • Jump up
  • The Ragge soca
  • Chuntney soca, associating Indian rhythms
  • Rapso, influenced

Some hit with the artists the more know:

  • Max it up - Destra Garcia
  • Tek We Yuself - Mr Vegas
  • Go Club (Remix) - Beenie Man

City of leisure activities and entertainments, it is the famous sea resort which is a first urban pole of a vast urban area of 5 564 635 inhabitants in 2010, the eighth of the United States. His tourist port is the first port of cruise ships, with a third of the world fleet. A visa for entrance to Miami is need.

The best moment to visit Miami is at night. The places to stay: the condominium (building, apartment), the town house, the individual house, the villa and the bungalow. Where to eat out : Cheescake Factory, Fiorito and Deny’s. You can have a drink at: Night clubs and Bars.

A good itinerary: Miami at Peacock Park. For example, I recommend: Downtown Miami, Brickell, Coral Way and Peacock Park.
