Today, I chose to talk to you about this piece of news

A Universal Museum in the United Arabs Emirates?

What do you think I’m going to talk about?

So after 10 years of works, The Louvre Abu Dhabi was officially inaugurated on Wednesday 8th November by the French president Emmanuel Macron.

It is the first official visit of the president in the Middle East since his election in May. There was also his wife Brigitte and several leaders of the Arab-Muslim Word such as (comme par exemple) Mohammed ben Zayed Al-Nahyane, who is the crown prince and Minister of Defence of Abu Dhabi.

Louvre Abu Dhabi is the first universal museum in the Arab world. In definition, it is the first museum in the Arab World without distinction of geographical origin, of period or of artistic school. Paris and Abu Dhabi wanted to create a symbol of "opening" and "tolerance".

After his visit of the museum’s opening gallery. The French President delivered a speech in front of more than four hundred guests. During this speech, Emmanuel Macron mentioned the incredible architecture of the place designed and realized by French’s star architect Jean Nouvel, present also among the guests.

But, above all, this moment, provided opportunity to the President to mention religions and the fight against obscurantism.

He called the museum the “Louvre of the desert and light” and said it represented a struggle to “defend beauty, universality, creativity, reason and fraternity”. For illustrate his words, referenced the Russian writer Dostoevsky by quoting : “beauty can save the world”.

In addition, after this official inauguration, the opening of the public took place on Saturday. The event attracted a diverse and cosmopolitan crowd: Asiatics, Europeans, Arabic …some of them dressed in pairs of shorts, others in Arabic dress.

Crowd discovered more than six hundred works of art of Antiquity, of contemporary art came from all continents in a modern and bright structure with opened under a giant silver dome that gently filters the blazing sunlight of a desert island intended to be dedicated to culture and art.

At last, I took my information I different newspapers: Le Figaro, Ouest France and The Guardian.

I chose this piece of news because it is symbol of openness to the world, of tolerance and of culture. In my opinion, it’s projects like this who bring the peace in the word.
