These days feeling healthy is not enough anymore - one has also to look healthy. If - for example - men in the past were found "more attractive" when they looked "rough", in today's world, they need to groom themselves and look more appealing , "metrosexual" . As a result, almost everybody tries nowadays to finding ways of looking healthier and younger – pushed heavily by magazines of all kind. And thus all focus is turned on one’s skin as it plays such a cruel role in unraveling clearly one's age. Indeed, a dry, lifeless or wrinkled skin can make anyone look twenty years older than his or her exact age. This is precisely where anti-aging food supplements can help you and your fight against aging.

Environmental elements like climate, pollution, skin products, water consumption, and sleep all have a major impact on the skin. However, the biggest factor is what we eat. The types of foods we take-in influence our overall health, which in turn affects our skin. However – as our lives are becoming busier and busier, we barely have take the time to eat nutritious and healthy foods anymore. That lack of time forces us to look for quicker - yet tastier - options such as junk foods. Though these foods fill our stomachs, they don't supply our bodies with the essential nutrients and minerals it requires to renew properly its skin. This is why anti-oxidant food supplements are a blessing as they help our body fight the aging process. But first let’s see in more details why they matter.

Our body naturally and continually produces oxidants. These oxidants lead directly to the production of free radicals, which are quite unstable in nature. Too many oxidizing agents in the body can cause severe illnesses like osseous rheumatism, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, cancer and even heart failure. Worst, our environmental condition such as sun rays / unhealthy way of life also leads to the generation and accumulation of oxidizing compounds in our bodies. Due to their reactive nature, these compounds will eventually start destroying our body cells. Which in turn leads to a faster cells reproduction than needed by our body and thus in more “wear and tear” of our internal organs, making our body become unhealthy – which in turn quickens again the aging process…

How anti-oxidants help in the anti-aging process?

As it continually generates oxidants / free radicals, our body also produces tiny quantity of anti-oxidants on its own. However, this amount is not enough to fight the huge volume of free radicals generated. As these anti-oxidants - which include vitamins C and E, lipoic acid, lutein, and flavonoids - are essential to our well-being, we thus need to absorb them from external sources. As nature does things well, they are found in large amounts in fresh fruit and veg that are grown naturally. Thus eating properly will help and supply the optimum quantity of anti-oxidants that our body requires and – in turn - fight free-radicals and their drastic impact on our skin. However, and as mentioned above, the speed of today’s life means that we rarely these days take the time to eat proper food! So – to fight the aging process, we need new weapons…
