Doc I: Active Social Engineering Defense

This document talks about cyberattacks and how to respond to them. Our increasingly connected world is a source of major advances in national security and intelligence, but it also leads to an increase in cyberattacks. These attacks no longer affect only military systems and critical infrastructure, but also individuals. Indeed, hackers prefer to exploit humans rather than computer or network security flaws (more secure). Attacks on humans are called « social engineering ». Hackers generally expect uninformed internet users to click on malicious links. They use manipulation to achieve their goal: obtain personal information such as passwords etc…

Doc II: « Le robot n’est ni libre ni responsable » (french document written by Alexei Grinbaum).

Paper discusses dilemmas of artificial intelligence. It’s a more philosophical than scientific text: his argument is not scientific. When a car is driven by artificial intelligence how should it act in particular cases?(situation where the car has no choice but to kill: either it brakes and saves the pedestrian but causes a fatal accident in the rear or vice versa) How does the machine make the choice? Is the machine responsible? Who is responsible? For the philosopher, the author of the machine is solely responsible. No choice is right that’s why in case of moral dilemma, the car must be programmed to act randomly, not to choose who to sacrifice.

Doc III: video « the brave new world »

The title of the video refers to Brave New World by Adams Huxley. It’s a dystopia which tells the story of a world ruled buy scientist and scientific experimentation. It’s about cloning. The video is about artificial intelligence and many advances. The use of this title is a way to give a message of questioning; of being suspicious about artificial intelligence. What are the dangers of artificial intelligence? Should we be wary of artificiel intelligence? The video talks about the benefits of artificial intelligence (improves the medicine, translate language into another one …) and it flaws (increase inequality)… The video seeks to inform the viewer. It’s a video both informative and preventive.
