Working Abroad

The document under consideration is a video which is entitled Your First EURES Job. It is a monologue which deals with a job recruitment organization.

First of all, the organization concerns on the one hand job seekers, and on the other hand, the employers of Small and Medium Size firms. The applicants must be between 18 and 30 if they want to participate to this program. The program aims at favoring the creation of new experience for young people.

In the video, the example is Gabriel who is a 22-year-old Portuguese applicant, and Ingrid a Swedish employer. This latter works at a national and regional level firm and she was looking for a Swedish employee first and then as she didn't find an employee, she used the program. This program is on the internet and that can permit to put in contact both of them. Indeed, Gabriel put his resume on the website and Ingrid registered the application. She also applied to settle an integration schedule for the employee to the program.

The program has organized a video interview and we learned that Gabriel has been hired.

This organization permits to young people to travel in Europe while working and can give information and financial help to them. In that way, the program helps in the transition so that is easy for both parts.

The good of this organization for the applicant is that he doesn’t need some skills, qualification or experience. Furthermore, work placements have to last 6 months minimum. In terms of law, the national labor law must be respected.

The good for the employers is that they help them in the selection of candidates.

The benefits are clear, this is mainly innovation and competition. And that is a very important point for a company.

Last but not least, we are made to understand that using Your First EURES Job is a win-win situation for both Gabriel and Ingrid.
