Present Simple (Présent simple)

✅ Utilisation :

* Habitudes et routines : I go to school every day.

* Vérités générales : The sun rises in the east.

* Faits scientifiques : Water boils at 100°C.

* Programmes ou horaires fixes : The train leaves at 6 p.m.

* Verbes d’état (like, love, hate, know, believe…) : She loves chocolate.

🔹 Structure :

Sujet + verbe (base verbale ou -s à la 3e pers. du singulier)

* I work. / She works.

* He does not like coffee.

* Do you play football?

Present Continuous (Présent en BE + -ING)

✅ Utilisation :

* Actions en cours : I am studying now.

* Actions temporaires : She is living in Paris for a few months.

* Projets futurs proches : We are meeting them tonight.

* Actions en évolution : Technology is improving fast.

🔹 Structure :

Sujet + BE (am/is/are) + Verbe en -ING

* She is watching TV.

* They are not coming tomorrow.

* Are you working right now?

📌 Past Simple vs Past Continuous

Past Simple (Passé simple)

✅ Utilisation :

* Actions terminées à un moment précis du passé : I visited London last year.

* Actions qui se succèdent : He opened the door, entered the room, and sat down.

* Habitudes dans le passé : When I was a child, I played outside every day.

🔹 Structure :

Sujet + verbe en -ED (verbes réguliers) ou forme irrégulière

* I worked yesterday. / She went to Paris.

* They did not (didn't) call me.

* Did you see the movie?

Past Continuous (Passé en BE + -ING)

✅ Utilisation :

* Action en cours à un moment du passé : At 8 p.m., I was watching TV.

* Deux actions en même temps : She was cooking while he was reading.

* Action interrompue par une autre : I was sleeping when the phone rang.

* Description dans le passé : The sun was shining, and the birds were singing.
